Future of the Quarry
Quarry Amphitheatre Strategic & Business Plan
In 2024 Council adopted the Quarry Amphitheatre Strategic and Business Plan developed by Push Management. It outlines a clear direction, management model, and renewed level of investment for the Quarry through four overall goals:
- Place - Deliver a professional standard venue and equipment that enables efficient and safe operations, consistently meets customer expectations, and fosters a positive reputation;
- People - To have a highly skilled, empowered, productive, and motivated venue management team;
- Marketing - To maximise the Quarry's appeal, utilisation, and associated revenue; and
- Management - To sustainably realise the financial, social, and creative potential of the Quarry.
This Plan is underpinned by a comprehensive Business Plan that includes a five-year Financial Plan and Forecast, Marketing Plan, Management Plan, and an Implementation Plan that outlines Objectives, Strategies, and Actions.
Over the next five years, adopting a sustainability mindset that sees both the impact and economics of decisions as interdependent, the Quarry Amphitheatre’s site, equipment, and service delivery will be upgraded. This will establish and realise the Quarry’s position providing a quality venue experience that attracts patrons and hirers, and leverages its natural surroundings.
A dedicated venue management team will drive revenue to support the sustainability of the venue. Being adaptable, open to opportunity, and proactively seeking business that drives revenue and utilisation, the Town will build the Quarry’s profile, impact, and value. As a result, the Town and the Quarry will be recognised as the custodian of an iconic, heritage-listed, and essential piece of Western Australia’s cultural infrastructure.
The Town will start by focusing internally on resources, capability, and capacity, while building a stronger outward focus on reputation, relationships, reach, and revenue.
By 2029 the Quarry Amphitheatre will be an exemplar of sustainable, Local Government led, performing arts venue practice.
